Fires in the Czech Republic

In July 2022 GEM Europe responded to the largest fire in modern Czech history, which erupted in the Bohemian Switzerland National Park. The fire consumed thousands of hectares of protected forest, and we quickly mobilised to support firefighters and local residents directly affected by the disaster.

Our team reached the main operational point of the Czech fire brigade, delivering 3 pallets of essential items. The aid included drinking water, hygiene products and basic relief supplies, which were distributed to both frontline rescuers and evacuated residents.

This rapid response demonstrated GEM Europe's ability to respond not only to humanitarian crises of conflict and displacement, but also to environmental disasters across the region.
